I’ve spent most of my life doing just about everything to try and get my weight off. I’ve tried crazy diets, I’ve tried fasting, I tried diet pills, programs, weird exercise videos that emphasized mostly just weird breathing styles and a host of other things. Most of these actually worked, for a time anyway. I always ended up gaining back any weight that I lost and usually a few pounds more and this was usually because these methods were just not sustainable. They weren’t changes that I was willing to implement for the rest of my life and for you to lose weight and keep it off, you need to find a way of healthy living that you can sustain. Sure you can lose weight and keep it off by having a shake for breakfast and lunch every day for the rest of your life but are you willing to do that? Do you want to do that? The choice is yours.

My number one tip for losing weight and keeping it off permanently is to commit! Whatever you decide to do (obviously I would rather you did it with healthy nutritional changes and a regular exercise routine but it’s up to you), stick with it!

Listen, I say this over and over again but it’s because I need you to really understand it, there is no magic bullet to weight loss. If you want it, you’re going to have to work for it and never, EVER give up! If you find the scale or measurements stalling or taking a slide in the opposite direction, don’t just quit, re-evaluate, figure out what’s going on and get the hell back up! Commit to your new healthy life, don’t let anything get in the way of it. Don’t even give yourself the option of going back to your old ways. As the great Yoda once said: “Do or do not. There is no try.” Make the decision and DO IT!

I know it’s hard, trust me, I know. But just because it’s hard doesn’t mean you can’t do it! Push yourself to bust through the tough times, by not allowing yourself to go back to your old ways you’ll have no choice but to climb those mountains that pop up in front of you as they inevitably will.

You owe it to yourself to do this, you owe it to your family, you owe it to your life to do this! You can do anything you put your mind to, you just need to decide to do it, commit to it and then act!
