It’s mid-July and we’re starting to reap the benefits of all of our hard work in our backyard garden! Is there anything yummier tasting than a meal made with your own produce? Seriously! I just had a hugh jass salad for lunch with grape tomatoes freshly plucked from the vine and I swear that the salad was the best I’ve tasted in forever. From grape tomatoes to huge beefsteak tomatoes, jalapeño peppers, green peppers, sweet red peppers, eggplant, onions and even squash our veggie garden is starting to explode with awesome veggie goodness with surprisingly little effort.
Cheers to mouthwatering, juicy, healthy and colourful veggies to one and all!
P.S. I’m already up to my eyeballs in jalapeños (and man does it BURN!). Anyone need any?

Apparently scientists say they’re close to unlocking the secrets of immortality. Of course, they think they know what to do but they still need to figure out how to do it. Am I the only one who immediately thinks of Jeff Goldblum in Jurassic Park when I read about anything to do with scientists fiddling with nature when he says that “nature will find a way”? I do NOT want to see what will happen to the first batch of “human subjects”. My guess is that they’ll explode or something.
We all know that change isn’t easy but have you ever thought why that’s so? As it turns out, self-control is exhaustible! Keep this in mind the next time you want to beat yourself up for “slipping” and having more cookies than necessary when you’ve been really great all week.
How To Be Your Awesome Self
We are a nation of product junkies. Advertisers everywhere have been telling us for years that we need to use a bazillion different products on our bodies to open our pores, close our pores, scrub our pores and on and on and on. Well, guess what? You don’t actually need all that stuff! Not only do most of these products just gunk up your skin with unnecessary toxins, most don’t even work! Here are eight products you think you need – but don’t! I can at least attest to the toner and the shave cream, I haven’t used shaving cream in years and my legs are smooth, smooth, smooth!
I love this blog post by Huffington Post blogger, Amy Chan: “Courage is Having the Strength to be Vulnerable“. Of course it’s not great to dwell on the crappy things that happen in life but it’s perfectly alright to feel shitty for a while so that we can deal with the emotions before we move on. It doesn’t mean we don’t know how to handle crummy situations, in fact, it means the opposite; we don’t deny what we’re feeling and allow ourselves to feel it so we can move on with emotional stability. If you’re an emotional eater, this is definitely an article you’ll want to read!
