This Sunday my family and friends came together to throw me a bridal shower. This is real life people! I don’t know why, but I was nervous going into it. I’m used to birthday parties and whatnot but this, this was a lifetime event! Something that will not happen again in the form that it did! I’m not used to having a fuss made about me but having so many amazing women come together to wish me best of luck, play some goofy games and have a good time was one of the best feelings I’ve had in a long time. Sometimes, even when it seems weird and awkward, it’s nice to be fawned over. I am truly blessed to know the women that I do and I know that I’ll be taken care of for years to come!
I’m super grateful for all of you, too, and I hope these links serve as a small way of showing my appreciation for your support and overall awesomeness! Enjoy!

Ha! I love this post about 10 good reasons why women should stay away from weight training. They’re right, it’s just not good for our feminine image…
Finding a good gym isn’t easy. There are a lot of things to consider before handing over your hard-earned cash and getting down to some sweaty business. Here are some great tips on how to find the best fitness gym.
Recently I’ve been looking to adding more protein in my diet. No, I’m not turning into a protein freak but I am trying to see where I can bump it up throughout my day and naturally I’ve been coming across a ton of homemade protein bars. I haven’t made any yet (I’m scared of baking with protein powder!) but with this recipe for chocolate and peanut butter protein bars, I think I’m about to get my hands dirty!
I’ve been insanely jealous of the gourmet popsicle trend that’s been happening this summer (although I know perfectly well that I don’t need a popsicle mould to make popsicles). If you’ve been on the kick as well, here are 10 must-make popsicles. I still have plenty of summer left so I promise I’m going to make some in the next couple of weeks!
Looking for a new way to eat your greens? I’m thinkin’ this recipe for swiss chard cakes with green yogurt sauce would fit that bill!
It’s the age-old question: “Should I eat in the morning before I exercise?” Some people say “Yes! Absolutely!” while others say it doesn’t matter, it’s what you feel like. Well, finally there’s a much more realistic and non-generalized answer in a recent Huffington Post article. Check it out!
For all Mom’s out there, here’s yet another article about the importance of making sure your kids are getting a healthy diet. According to researchers from India, your bones are as good as your diet.
I know I’m not the only one who says that Guinness is a meal in a glass but, guess what? I’m sort of right! Apparently, it not only contains slightly fewer calories than most other beers but it also appears to contain small quantities of iron, calcium, phosphates, some vitamins and even fibre!
I know portions are just as difficult to wrap your head around as what to eat. Living in our society, we’re so used to having such large meals that anything smaller than a Super Sized one just seems, well, off. So, as a visual to help you out, here’s what a 300 calorie meals looks like (for the most part).
For The Casa
My jaw literally dropped when I saw the layout of this house! It’s just what the title says it is: a suburban tardis! Just proof that what looks small on the outside means nothing! Gorgeous house!
How To Be Your Beautiful Self
I always like using at-home spa activities as rewards for achieving my fitness and weight loss goals. They’re inexpensive and you can do them often (so if you’re having a day when you don’t want to work out, you can instantly bribe yourself with an at-home facial right after your workout or before bed). Usually I’ll buy pre-made facial packets BUT, here is a great list of at-home spa treatments you can make out of ingredients you probably have on hand already! Enjoy!
Have you heard? IKEA is planning a chain of budget hotels in Europe! I can’t wait to see how they carry this out!
How To Be Your Awesome Self
I love this article about 30 things you don’t have to have by 30. We women are so damned hard on ourselves and no, we don’t have to have the world figured out by the time we hit 30 because, quite frankly, we’d all be screwed, am I right or am I right?
