Have I ever told you that autumn is my absolute most favouritest season in the entire world? No? Really?! Huh… Well, it is and so I’m obviously ecstatic that it is officially Autumn in the Northern Hemisphere (sucks to be you, Southern Hemisphere… You and your “Spring” and the gorgeous flowers and such… )! I love everything about the fall: the long sleeved shirts with hats, scarves and wrist warmers, the chilly mornings, the colours, the holidays, the long walks around the neighbourhood, the anticipation of six months of cold winter days, good excuses to cuddle up with special people (and pets) on the couch watching movies. Is it any wonder why I wanted to get married this time of year?
I celebrated the Autumn Equinox in style, out north of Toronto at my soon-to-be father-in-law’s cottage with my two bestest and oldest friends who threw me a totally cool and laid-back bachelorette party. The three of us, wine, good food, yoga and boat loads of laughter (not exactly in that order), what more could a women ask for?
I hope you enjoy your Autumn for all that it brings. There’s a feeling of aliveness in Autumn, almost as if it’s in the knowing that the death of a season makes us feel more alive and appreciative of the outdoors before we head inside for months, awaiting Springtime. So go out there and be alive! Drink in the air, the colours, the feelings and bittersweetness that’s all around this time of year.
